Colclough’s contemporary paintings depict vibrant still life studies, rich in colour and energy, and his other works include marine views off the west coast of Scotland; he also drew inspiration from Scottish colourists. Born in Caithness and studied at Camberwell Art School whilst also working as a design draughtsman, Colclough’s work has been widely exhibited. Collections include the Royal Scottish Academy; the Royal Glasgow Institute and the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour.
