Born in Glasgow, the prolific Scottish contemporary artist studied drawing and painting at the Glasgow School of Art, graduating in 1977. Kingsley’s inspiration often derives from landscapes, both in Scotland and on the continent, namely Provence in France, and Spain. Awards include the William Bowie Landscape Prize (1991), the Mary Armour Award (1992) and he was an elected member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour and Glasgow Art Club.
