mounted in white metal, with blue glass inserts and paste jewels a buckle has been converted into a brooch, by Ellett Lane & Son Goldsmith, Exeter and a fitted box has been made for the item, dimensions of the brooch 9cm x 5cm, weight 78.8gms, together with a matching partial chatelain, that could be worn as a pendant, weight 25.6gms
Brooch would never function as a buckle again, it is lead soldered shut, this has been done in a very professional manner.
chatelaine; the smallest blue glass panel is cracked right across, and the clip for the chatelaine is missing
