Wilson (Sir Charles) Picturesque Palestine, Sinai and Egypt
London, J.S. Virtue and Co., c.1880, four volumes with supplement (five total), bound in brown cloth with gilt-titled upper covers, 4to (5)
All volumes complete.
In Supplement, one engraved plate on steel (Pastime in Ancient Egypt) and tissue guard have come loose, owing to weakness in the text block.
Publisher's advertisement at end of text is browned in all volumes. Endpapers/pastedowns discoloured around edges in some volumes. Some off-setting to tissue guards. Gilt edges a little dulled. Some moderate foxing to pages, worst towards end of text, but generally crisp and clean. No annotations, inscriptions, bookplates etc. Spines appear dark relative to covers. General bumps and small tears to cloth particularly around edges. Some surface marks, including (possible) white paint. Overall, a good set.
