AN OPAL NECKLACE
the 18ct gold chain is hung with three spectacle set jelly opal doublets of approx 10mm x 8mm, length of chain 74cm, weight 8.2gms
On close inspection the opals appear to be a double sided doublet with a section of jelly opal in the middle like the filling in a sandwich, as they are tension set with some added glue very difficult to see, some tiny bubbles from the bonding glue can just be seen and they are clear from the sides. The chain is stamped 750 for 18k gold. Both chain & clasp are ok.
